Geoff was the Head of Planning at Essex County Council, one of
the largest planning authorities in the UK, until joining Hives
in 2006. He has extensive experience of strategic projects and

and partnership working at Harlow, the growth of Stansted Airport,
production of Waste and Mineral Plans, and close involvement with
the preparation and examination of the East of England Spatial
Strategy. He has appeared as an expert witness at many planning

proved valuable in the strategic projects that Hives are engaged

Rebecca McAllister BA MSc MRTPI
Director
Email: rm@hivesplanning.co.uk
Rebecca has more than 15 years experience within the private planning
sector. She joined Hives in 2004 formerly having been with large
multi-disciplinary practices, as well as small independent planning
consultancies. She has advised on a wide variety of schemes at
all stages of the planning process and has appeared as expert
planning witness in both Local Plan and S78 Inquiries. Her project
management skills equip her well for dealing with the large and
often complex schemes she is increasingly involved in. Away from
work Rebecca has two young sons to keep her busy, but when she
does have spare time she enjoys walking, reading, perhaps some
retail therapy, good food and wine – not necessarily in
that order!
